Hydro Surf Staff Profiles
Katherine Greer
Managing director and co-founder of Hydro Surf. Katherine is an avid snowboarder, you will see her shredding the powder all over the southern mountains and on the coast out in the line up around her local beaches Aramoana and Whareakeake. She has been living and breathing surf for a large part of her life, she was surfing nine months pregnant with her son James who was snug in the womb. Katherine has a strong academic background with a degree in Accounting and a post graduate degree in Marketing, these are put to good use at Hydro Surf. Her other passions include arts and crafts and photography Katherine has one of the biggest urban vegetable gardens around, and she needs it to feed her two hungry vegetarian sons.

Erin is Queen Bee of Hydro Surf and has the friendliest smile in retail. She is our Clothing Retail Manager and buyer for Hydro Surf. Erin has a keen eye for fashion and is a photographic model for local designer and friend Toni Darling. She runs every day and enjoys summer-time waves at her local, St.Clair beach. ![]() Chloe Ford Chloe travels from 'Mollywood' everyday to greet our customers with an amazing smile and cheerful laugh , saving hard is where shes at to pimp out her our pad one day soon....An ICON and Aloe Up specialist for Hydro , she will tell you which lip balm or sunscreen is perfect for your next holiday.
![]() Ted Whitaker Currently experimenting on a broad range of surf craft and hardware. This random rat will be fangin down Murdering Point on his new twinny with massive Keel fins. Another north coast local, screen printer, electronic artist and surf cinema enthusiast.
Leroy Rust
The man child went from grommet-hood to paddling Papatowai over night. Now competing Nationally following the Hyundai Pro Longboard Tour. He's a junior champ for his stylish nose riding and powerful turns. This nacho fiend knows his FCS product like the contours of his northern coastline. We lock him down as our in store hardware manager at Hydro Surf.
Nathan Shaw
Radar is back on board with the team after a few years away designing , printing , and mastering the art of coffee making....getting creative painting and exhibiting locally and nationally as an artist. Always getting his H-3 Nexus fins loose down at Kilda or up the coast at Murderers while working for both Retail and Hydro Hardware.
James Rust
Geordi Dearns The token shop grommet. He was bred in the St. Clair channel where you will see him frequently getting his LB-1 fins over the lip with a halo of spray. He's travelled all over New Zealand as a competition surfer representing Otago numerously in the National Schoolastics. He's a friendly guy with a wetsuit tan-line. Heath Ratten Heath is a trainne Primary School teacher which rounds off a strong wholesome lifestyle of surfing, gardening, painting and looking after his frogs. He swam around White Island (5km ocean swim).
